Question about MAF
Hi everyone!
I just clean the MAF on my 1999 ML 320. Found alot of info on this site. Took it out for a drive, about 2mi, and it drives fine.
I guess I was wondering if I should get the check engine light rest or should it just reset itself.

BMW E30. I've turned to the dark side.
if it is still out of spec even after cleaning, then it will likely stay on. if you have 'solved' the problem by cleaning the maf then the light should go off in a few days even though the fault code will still be stored in ME.

I've used that exact cleaner too on my c230 coupe's MAF. Worked great. Of course, I'm an idiot and forgot to hook the wiring back up to it when I was done. Enter check engine light. Crazy thing is that it ran fine while it was off! Barely noticed that power was down. I guess it has some default values that it uses in case of failure to keep from damaging anything.
