Rear trunk won't stay up. 1999 ML430
my trunk won't stay up when i open it, has this happened to anyone yet? while I'm loading my baby stroller and other supplies in the trunk with my right arm, I'm using the left to hold it up.

While it has not happened to my '02 ML430 yet, I have had to replace the engine hood gas cylinders for the same reason - hood wouldn't stay open. On my cargo door, there are two gas cylinders that assist the door open and keep it open; your's is probably the same. I would recommend replacing both cylinders. Even if only one is bad now, the other is going to fail soon.
The gas cylinders are easy to replace, but you'll need someone to hold open the door while you change them. Obtain replacement gas cylinders from your MB dealer, or you might find them at an AutoZone, etc.
