ML320 (W163) Radio volume low

2000 ML320 (W163): radio volume is low even though the volume knob is turned all the way up. Sounds like an attenuator is on, but I can't seem to find one on this stock radio. THis only happens when on the FM band. The AM, Weather, and CD all play at normal volumes. Volume is very low only while on the FM band.

Can anyone help please? THis is starting to get annoying.

I am having the exact same issue with my 03 ML500. Can't seem to figure it out....same thing...only on FM.

Standard Audio 30 Headunit.

Perhaps the FM pre-amps are fried? It's a tough one, 'cause that'll be full headunit replace.
