pushbars/bumperguards etc

i'm looking to get the front and rear pushbars for my ML.

where/how much can i get them for?

also, what other tasteful alternatives are there to the common "pi" shaped pushbars.

thank you

I have always heard that adding bars to the front of the vehicle may (and I emphasize "may") effect the collision sensors for the airbag deployment. I am not 100% sure so I would welcome an opposing opinion if what I have stated is not true. Good luck..

Thumbs up Why the rear push bar? Never seen them on the ML class

I have the push bars for front and sides, but no rear. There are two types of bars mine is installed at MB and it's attached to the bumper. The other one is a chessy one where you can install it yourself.

That's MB OEM. Try Clair (www.clair.com) or performance parts. You can also call Jerry at formymercedes.com.

That front push bar is easy to install, even without directions. I had one on mine but I took it off. I think I paid a couple hundred bucks for it but I can't say much more than that. Get a trailer hitch too, that one is fun to install, no really it is!

nice pics,

anyone have pics/knowledge of this one particular bar---

it looks like the common push bar but with flush panels, sort of like a matching skid plate (matches teh color of the car)...

also, have any of u seen the G wagon type of rear spare thing that mounts on the door...

it sounds tacky, but in person it makes the ML look a lot more mean/ruggedly flush

Andaya,

Come to think of it, I must of had "the cheesy one". I got it from the dealer but it looks like the one on the left. It came with the skid plate too.

Really? That's odd cause the bars actually

goes throught the front bumpers. See more of my car:

cool. Maybe I had a newer or older model push bar. I do know that there was a small metal attachment in the middle that went through the front of the plastic mesh on the bumper. I had to make a small incision for it to go through. Other than that, I can't rememeber anything going through it except at the bottom in those big vents.

Anyhow, I took it off cause it made mine look more like a wagon than an SUV. If I had some 20"'s on there, it would look more appropriate. Yours looks a lot better than mine. I think it has something to do with the color of the car.
