2003 ml350, need new low-beam headlight bulb, recommendations?
Hi everyone, I need/want to replace the bulbs of my low-beam headlights on my 2003 ml350. What size should I be looking at, as well as what recommendations do you guys have? I'm not sure of my headlights are xenon or not. Any and all advice would be appreciated.
Thanks, Darrell |
if you're lights have a distinct shade of blue to it...then you have xenons

RE:
They aren't, they have a yellowish tint to them, which I do not like. What bulb should I be looking at that will provide me with a whiter/brighter color, as well as fit the low-beam compartment of the headlight?
Thanks, Darrell |
assuming the bulbs are H7...there are a lot of different bulbs available..
SYLVANIA H7 SILVERSTAR HIGH PERFORMANCE HALOGEN HEADLIGHT BULB |
NOT Sylvania Silverstar--these are Pep Boys junk with very low life and their main claim to fame is that they are blue.
Get instead Osram Silverstar, which last longer and aren't blue. http://www.powerbulbs.com |
Re:
Thanks for the response guys, well I just went out and got some sylvania silverstar ultra's for sheer convenience, popped off the headlights, and it seems the h7 only fits in the high-beam compartment, am I missing something, or is the low-beam compartment a different size?
This is the style of headlight that I have: http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...500_AA280_.jpg Thanks, Darrell |
hmm thats strange..i have a 98 ML (older style lighting case) with H7 low beam and H1 high beam
...I just checked for you, the low and high beam are both H7 for an 03 ML350 with halogen lights...so it should work |
Thanks for the response guys, I'm gonna open it up again today and try to get the bulb into the low-beam compartment, it just seems a little tricky from the first time I opened it.
Thanks, Darrell |
I put a set of Sylvania Silverstar H7ST in my 98ML and liked them very much. Much more of a White light and no Yellow look. They were still working when I upgraded the headlight units to Bi-Xenon units. I would buy them again except both ML's are now Bi-Xenon.

Thanks for the tips/responses guys, I was able to get the bulbs into the low-beam compartment, I was just really lazy with trying the first time around.
Thanks again, Darrell |
