00' ML320 Wont crank. Good Battery.
Im lost with this one.
My Battery Died last night. (dim lighting) I have no idea why, its not that old a battery and this was all of a sudden.
I Tried jump starting, and different fully charged batteries. It wouldnt start.
The Crankshaft never turns over.
Hear one click (relay?) and lights flash.
Drive Authorization System accepts key ok. (short red blink on dash when key turned.)
Key FOB re synced. Valet key tried.
Neutral gear tried in case it was the neutral pos sensor.
Security code re-entered on dash.
k8 relay tested (starter) by swapping with light relay (same type).
Pin 3 relay voltage on all the time. Pin 2 voltage on key turn.
Should I just remove all the fuses I dont need to check for a closed circuit?
Ive heard that the electrical connector can melt under fuse box. Im going to look into that tomorrow.
Anything else I can test/try? I really dont think this is a sensor and im trying to think of what could cause this and also had killed the battery...
I'm worried its the ECU... If it is it is, but I dont want to just throw money at it without knowing. I guess my next step is to take to the stealer and have a diagnostic done.
Anyone who can lead me in the right direction or suggest any other tests I can do?!
Thanks!

Well the relay Pin 3 has full voltage, and pin 2 gets voltage only when the key is turned.
I tried replacing the relay with the light relay (same type) and it worked. So i think the starter relay is ok.
Starter could be dead. A related fuse could be dead that I haven't found yet.
If a starter motor turns bad, can it turn into a parasitic drain and kill a battery?
