coolant leakage through heater holes in the firewall

I have a 2000 mercedes benz ML 430. The expansion tank will not retain coolant, instead, as the coolant is poured into the expansion tank it goes into the two heater hoses in the firewall and drains out at the bottom drain hose of the truck in the passenger area immediately. Can someone please help. Thanks.

Any coolant that leaks out of the drain tube is excess.

Why are you adding coolant?

If you are filling it above the marked line while the eng. is cold, you are adding too much coolant.

Figured it out!!

"I had some work done to change an O-ring inside my power steering reservoir but... looks like my "clever" mechanic loosen the screw rings to my radiator hose that's why I was getting leaks!! It wouldn't had been so obvious except he had loosen all 3 hoses on my radiator! Make the story short it was a simple turn of a screw driver!

"Thanks for your help. I wasn't aware those were the proper levels for the coolant.. All these time I always put about an inch more to the mid level!
