CD's for Nav/GPS Updates

Does anyone know if there is a program in place to provide periodic up dates to the CD's to correct for new roads, information, etc. I have purchased the complete set of US and Canada. If so is there one free update included? How much $$? and how often??

Rumor is that MBUSA will send you ONE free update 1 year after your took delivery. After that you are on your own.

Navtech CD's

Just got a reply from these folks on my question. 01 and 02's are Alpine units and the CD's will be updated once a year and MB does send one update at N/C. Earlier units have just completed the first up date and are being distributed at this time. Apparently MB supplies the owner list to Navtech and they send them out under MB's name

NAV Updates

I received the following reply yesterday reference NAV updates.

Thank you for your recent internet inquiry.

Vehicles that are equipped with the COMAND Navigation System will automatically receive 1 free update from Bosch or NavTech. The only exception are the 2002 vehicles equipped with COMAND. There are no free updates for 2002 vehicles.

If we can be of any further assistance, please feel free to call us at 1-800-FOR-MERCedes (1-800-367-6372).

Sincerely,

The ML's do not have command. they have MCS which is a different system from what I am told by both MB and Navtech. See my previous post re the reply from Navtech.
