Another bad FM reception thread
After a recent service on my ML350 I re-entered my radio pin and found I had poor FM reception. Could be coincidence but I am unsure. All that I did to the car was change a relay for the fans under the hood.
CD works fine but FM can not find stations when scanning and if I pick a station volume is very low. I understand it could be the Antenna or maybe an amplifier? Logic suggests antenna to me. So my questions are....
What should I do to trouble shoot?
Where is the antenna located?
Is it in the rear bumber (I have bumper cracks and a hole) or the rear window?
Miss my radio as I use the FM with a bluetooth transmitter for hands free (And Pandora from the iphone)
If it is a big hot mess to fix is their an aftermarket that will fit in and offer bluetooth or at least an aux port? with Nav of course as I have it now...
Thanks for any help you can porovide

Thanks for the info. I will post a pic of my tailgate, looks a little different unless your posted picture does not show a cover wrap on the wires. What should I look for?

You will have to remove the wire loom to reveal the coax cable. Look at the point where the cable takes a bend. If it isn't obvious, you will have to manipulate the cable while the radio is on to check for returning reception.
