Does any one know about tire SIPING ?
I took my car to a local tire store (Les Schwab) for flat tire repair. They suggested tire SINPING for my tires. They gurantee to give better traction, braking and longer life on the tires. Does any one know what is this ? It costs $13 per tire, I rejected the service. Here is the link, if any one has interesting http://www.lesschwab.com/Siping.html

Its actually siping. They slice very thin cuts about every 1/2 inch accross the tire. This will give you better traction in the wet but shorter life. This is commonly done to truck tires that are of the lug design for better wet weather safety. Certainly not necessary on modern passenger car tires
