information console
I have had my 01 ml 320 since 2007 and i wanted to know if the information console in the overhead supposed to light up at night when you turn the headlights on. Mine has always been dark and i thought thats how it was supposed to be but i could be wrong.

If the wording on the overhead console is "RESET and MODE" then it should light up. If it doesn't then you will have to get a used one from a junk yard or ebay.
If there is any other wording, then it does not light up.

Thanks Maj. for the response yeah the console works fine i get the gas MPG and all it just doesnt light up at night and i wasnt sure if it was supposed to. i guess ill take it apart and see if theres a bulb in the or something.

OK Maj on the bulbs i saw something on the benzworld website on how to change them. Found the problem with my cruise control too it was the brake light switch. It seems like i change the switch once a year. Im going to take it to M/B for that recall and see if the dealer switch last longer.

The recall switch is blue in color. Buying it at the dealer ($20) and installing it yourself will save you not being able to use your truck for a day.
