transmission leak???
You can post a picture by pressing manage attachments & point were the photo is & upload.
You must first order the boot, O-ring, pan gasket, trans filter and 5 qts. of trans. oil from the dealer. You will also need a trans. dip stick to be precise on the fluid level.
Then drain the trans. fluid and drop the pan and filter. Then from the inside push the push the pin to the outside so the boot can be removed. It will be up to you to keep track of how all parts were originally.
You are warned that if you continue to drive your truck you will burn that trans. up.
You can eliminate any step or all of the steps if you want.

You posted a photo of where the leak is coming from (post#4). Part #45 is the part that is faulty. The tiny O-ring should be replaced after you push the pin out so it doesn't leak when you put it back in.
The ML transmission does not have a built in trans. dipstick. So you must buy the correct one so you are sure that there isn't too little or too much.
Should i just do everything or can i replace the filter and not the gasket
Changing the gasket & the filter will cost you very little. But if you are sure the gasket is new then change the filter.
