Exclamation (2002) Merc Ml320 (Oil Change)

Hello there, I'm quite new here, I registered a while back, but I was barely here.
I believe this would be my second thread so far.
Anyways, I just did my very own first oil change and I had a couple of questions to ask you guys... (First Time Benz Owner)

I went down to O'Reilys in order to purchase some motor oil and they recommended that I get (8.5Qts) for my Ml320.

I thought that was a lot, I called my buddy who I purchased this car from last year and he said: (That would be right amount, (8.5Qts with new oil filter) (8Qts without oil filter change.)

I thought that was still high...

Anyways, I went ahead and purchased (8Qts of 5w40 Motor oil)

I used a 10Qt pan and unscrewed the oil pan bolt and let it drain out nicely....

Afterwards, I went ahead and screwed the bolt back on to the oil pan
(Not so tight.)

Then, I went ahead and started pouring the motor oil into the engine...

The first one I started pouring was a (5Qt Bottle)
The rest were (1Qt Bottle x3)

After the first (5Qts) was done, I poured two more (1Qt) bottles and checked the dip stick...

It was showing almost (Max) Just a tiny tiny unnoticeable bit below (Max) I let the oil settle in, I start my the car after 10mins and let it run for 5minutes.

Then, I check the dip stick again and it was still the same.
So, I wanted to know how much oil does the ml320 (2002) really take?
I'm a little worried and I don't want to put to little or too much oil.

Thanks in advance!
