The fuse (what fuse?) will remain dead until the AAM sends a neg. signal to the relay.
If changing the batteries in the remote does not do the trick, you will need another AAM, after-which it must be coded to operate by a dealer.

Thanks plutoe. I have had the keys tested and they are both sending a signal.
and thanks dundee. I wwas afraid you would say that the fuse is f42 (central locking) I had a feelong the aam would be switching the nuetrals. ill have a look at it to make sure its powered up. any advice on testing it?
thanks all

Jason, if the Central Locking Sw. works properly, which it does, then all of the relays and fuses are good. Cent. Locking is strictly electrical.
Remote locking is exactly the same except it relies on a radio frequency signal from the key to the AAM. The key/s are sending the proper signal to the AAM but it is not processing that signal inside the AAM to lock or unlock the doors.

Thanks dundee. I see what you mean. do you know if the aam controls anything else? it seems as thpugh im looking at a defective aam but ill try all other avenues first. I did this with my abs failure. merc wanted $2000.00 for a new abs setup . I pulled it down and fpund it needed only 2 brushes on the small elec motor. cost like $20.00 . looking for a similar fix on this . Thanks for all your help
