Aftermarket radio reception problem

2006 ML500 with command Harmon Kardon head unit replaced with android aftermarket unit. All went well on the install except for the reception issue. I can't figure out if I need to send power to a antenna amplifier and if so where do I send it into the factory wire harness.

I was in the car audio business for many years. Look at metra on line to see the wiring set up. or audiovox. I think its called VOX now. It was a white wire on the factory harness.

2006 ML500
I found I have an antenna amplifier in the back and needed to send switched 12v to the antenna amplifier. I used the amp out line from new head unit to power the antenna amplifier. I was able to locate the antenna power lead from the original harness and connect my blue amp out to that and reception is amazing.

Yes that was the same issue for me. Have to make sure you have that amp wired up and active or reception will stink.
