Mercedes Benz ML270
Can anyone tell me how the auto transmission kick down works on the 2004 ML 270cdi. Mine was working fine then stopped changing back when in cruise control or when kicked down with the accelerator. I have changed the trans. oil and filter. I assume it would have to be an electrical issue, maybe a fuse but can't find any blown. I plugged in a code reader but it showed no faults.I am assuming if it won't change back in cruise control then it is not the floor switch. I am open to any suggestions

Try to scan it with Xentry, and see if that brings any faults. It seems coding on the Trany got lost so Might need SCN coding update.

Thanks for the reply, I figured it had to be something like that. I am an old codger, would be more comfortable working on a T model Ford than something with its own brain. May have to take it to a MB workshop but the nearest one is 125 kms away. I did try resetting the transmission via the key but nothing changed. Many thanks
