I saw them on ebay. I'm thinking the smoked look might compliment my black ML. Opinions? (I know alot of ebay headlights/taillights tend to be cheap in quality, but I've got to come up with SOME kind of mod for this thing...haha)

I was looking at LED tails just a few days ago...they're very tempting and not too expensive, only concern is the fit and having it installed by the dealer

I think you should buy them, install them, post a how-to, and send me some pics of how they look so I can make an informed decision.

haha...I'll think about it

I like the tails but it's not a "must have" mod so I'm still debating

Seller has made 33,000+ sales with 98% positive feedback. That goes a long way on E-Bay...

i have them on mine and posted a how to a while back. very simple no need for it to be a dealer install. they simply plug in to the wire harness socket. one per side with approx 4 screws per side. note: i also added the chrome tail light trim

Thanks for the info jerseytuffguy!

ML's are a dime a dozen down here in South FL (and mostly driven by women it seems) so gotta make mine stand out a little!

Speaking of the smoked look. Anyone remember the appearance package that was available on the 06 and 07 model years. When I ordered mine in 05 as on 06 the package was only available with the interior appearance package as well, I wasn't too keen on the funky suede leather inserts and silver trim at the time. The 07 models had the package seperate, interior appearance package and exterior appearance package. The lights were smoked dark, looked great, but they weren't led's. Here's a link to some that are led, don't have to worry about if the seller is going to rip you off, although that doesn't happen too often on ebay they are pretty good about that type of thing.
