2010 ML350 with appearance package: Hows is the ride and snow traction

I am looking into an artic white 2010 ML350 that comes with everything including the rare appearance package with 20inch rims. I am reluctant since I am not sure how the ride comfort is since the car is in another state and is rare in Michigan. Also how does the ML do in the snow with the low profile wheels? What tires come with this package and how long have they lasted for in miles? I have a 2006 ML350 and its is very good in the snow but it has those standard 17 inch rims.

The appearance package I believe is the Sport package. The car will do a similar job in the snow as your 06, however the low profile tires will not last quite as long as the regular non Sport package tires. Can't tell you for certain how long as this will vary with driver and conditions. This Sport package is standard on the ML550 that I recently took delivery of.

Do you have the 19 inch or 20 inch wheels? Is the ride supple over the bumps and potholes?

I have the std 19 inch tires. The ride is excellent. However I do have Airmatic and also had it on my 06. The 2010 ride is a bit smoother than my 06 and I really can't explain why as they are essentially the same. Could be that they tweaked the Airmatic. Keep in mind that the 350 has or at least I think it has a slightly different ride. Best bet is to drive it before you buy it. Do not think that Airmatic is available on the 350 but check it out.

You'd better check what tires are on it. Sometimes the larger wheel sizes come with performance (summer) tires, not all-seasons. If so, traction in ice and snow will be bad to the point of dangerous.

Yes tires are important but all the ML's I have seen came with all seasons tires.

Mine didn't.

I saw one with the appearance package and it had the Pirelli all seasons on them. However, I decided to go for one without the appearance package but with P2, Lighting package, heated front seats, wood steering wheel.

If the ride was so important to you (as it is to me) why did you not select Airmatic?? Why was the lighting package not available to you?? My ML550 is P2, Airmatic, leather and the lighting. Its certainly perfect for me. The wheel size in my estimation does not make much of a positive difference in the ride.

i didnt have much of a choice they did not have to many cars they took my car that was in bound to another dealer. thats whats good about buying from a factory store. I have a 08 gl450 with smaller wheels and the ride is very soft cant wait for it to go it seems like every truck that has 20s on it has more of a sports car feel. i wanted a 550 but the deals and residual value was less on a 550 then a 350. my sticker was 57 and change and i walked out paying 48 it helped having the fleet program. love the car

Hello,

My salesman says that he could not notice that much of a difference in ride comfort between the 19inch and 20 inch. When you mean that the ride is stiff, is it bad or is it a comfortable stiffness without jerking and jarring ride over bumps?

I might have to go with a P2 with appearance and lighting package ml350.

Thats the reason I order most of my vehicles. This way I get excactly what I want with no compromises. And, by the way any dealer can snag one from another dealer if that dealer will release it. The rules are the same for factory and independent dealers.

I have a 2010 with the appearence package and 20" Pirelli's Scorpion Zero all-season tires. The ride is comfortable and has good traction.
