BLUETEC 2011 ML350 CODE P0171 and p2459
I hooked up a equus 3160b scanner comes back 2 codes P0171 and p2459. P0171 Pointing towards mas air flow sensor and p2459 diesel Particulate filter regeneration frequency. Can somebody point me toward right direction. I cleared code, next day engine light comes back. One time on the Hwy i lost power, it would not go beyond 55mi. I drove about 60 miles and stop for diesel fill up. After fill up and restart engine the power came back. ( It seems like the turbo was not kicking in). Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Out Of Control!!
Search her for "LIMP" or LIMP MODE".
The engine controller reduces peak power to minimize the chance for more damage under lots of conditions.
Shutting down and restating lets the computer reset the condition until the next time it thinks there is a problem.
Many of us have this happen randomly sometimes with a code and sometimes without.
If you are getting the same two codes, I would bet you have a real problem. The first says the engine can not add enough fuel to resolve a lean condition, and the second could indicate an overly rich mixture requiring too soon an exhaust filter clean cycle.
If you are not handy, then find a GOOD Diesel savvy independent MB shop or a trusted MB dealership.
if you are handy, you can try changing a few of the likely components based on what you can find from reliable internet sources.

Thank you for quick response. That was very good information. Very good starting points. Truck works fine most of the time. My wife's work is about 10 min city drive. Do you think a long drive will clear some of the pressure issue, maybe it clean the sensors with high speed. Please advise. It was stored for a year inside before i bought it as 2nd hand about 2 moths ago. I drove only about 3000km so far. Thanks
