2009 ML 550

Exhuast day

My wifes 2009 ML 550 getting custom Magnaflow exhaust on the right. On the left my business partner's wife 2012 GL 550 Barbus Edition with the same set up.

Thanks I used my phone to do the video so it may not give the video justice but its awesome to get thumbs up and see all the heads turn.

The mufflers that I used were a brand called Xlerator it's a knock off of Magnaflow. Before it was completely welded together we tried the Magnaflow and Xlerator and there was no sound difference just visual different. So that being said I went with the Xlerator cause it was 1/2 the price and it sounded just like the Magnaflow. What was done the factory mufflers were replaced with straight pipe and the factory AMG tips were welded back on. Both resonators were cut and replaced with the Xlerator mufflers and were installed were the factory resonators were. The body of the mufflers are is 18" not including the inlet or outlet and the pipe diameter is 2 1/2. I will try tomorrow to get better pictures of the full system.

Wow. That sounds bad. I wouldn't go as far as saying crap but just bad.
You can actually hurt your performance from gutting the exhaust instead of making gains.
If it works for you, that's all that matters.

Yes I can see why everyone is looking at u, Have to agree with Hary, that sound on the video sounds like they left a bag of screws in each muffler. With stainless systems tinnie sound is expected, but yours is magnified.
But sorry, if you are satisfied then the shop did it's job.
