New guy & ML 550 Service Schedule
Hi guys. I'm new here. Just picked up a used 10 ML550 with low KM's.
It's immaculate and so fun to drive. First time venturing into the MB world after 15 years with Hondas. Still have a bullet proof 05 Ody Touring so I haven't converted completely.
Im a very good driveway DIY grease monkey. Had my 01 Prelude pushing 350 whp until I sold it off last year. The ML550 is the wife's way of saying I'm sorry to me. haha
So if you guys are kind enough to help a newb out I would appreciate it.
I'm looking into the service schedule for the ML. I have heard about Service A, B, C etc... but have no idea what each one calls for.
Is there a list out there I can refer to so I can get an idea what needs to be done for each service type?
Thanks Guys.

I have seen such a list but I don't recall where. Try asking your pal Mr. Google to help you find it.
Minor service is little other than an oil change and a whole bunch of checks every 15,000 km (~9,000 miles) or so. Oil and filter change are straightforward, particularly if you have an oil drain pump. Use Mobil 1 5W-40. If you are so inclined you can change the cabin air filter housed just in front of the glove box. The book says to remove the glove box, but smart people change it from the engine compartment. It just needs a little creative pushing into place. Search this forum for instructions. If you buy the proper activated charcoal filter you will get serious air sickness when you see the price.
The bigger services are a little more challenging. The dealer relies on his computer and several specialized tools. A few people do it themselves, but it ain't like fixing a Honda.
Things like a brake job are straightforward but I don't do them myself any more as I'm too old and lazy, my knees hurt, and you always end up covered in brake dust. You can find instructions for that on the forum, ditto for doing a transmission flush at 40,000 miles.

And follow the recommendations per the mile. DO NOT WORRY about Service A, B, C, etc.
The MB is no different than any other vehicle.
