ML350 Audio problems after battery change
Thanks for taking the time to read my post

I am having some difficulty with the sound system of my ML350...
The ML350 was imported from Japan. (The license papers says it is a 2005 model, however it is definitely a W164)
Basically what happened is we went on a road trip (8 hours driving time) and arrived at our destination without any problems. The next day when we started the car, it started without problem but the computer went haywire.
All interior and exterior lights was switching on and off by itself, lists of errors appeared on the center screen. Only once did the "red battery screen" briefly appeared. The battery was a bit old already, however it never gave me problems before. (Only sometimes when starting the car, the 12V ports inside the car will remain off for some time, guessing this is to give the car some time to charge the battery..)
While the car was in this "haywire state" I had to drive it for about 20min to get to the nearest battery shop. I replaced the battery myself and luckily all errors/problems went away and the car was normal again, or so I thought.
The thing about the audio, it stutters. But sometimes, it will also say "CD Changer not available" and then not even will the FM give any sound then.
Now the best part: When I turn the car off, but keep the radio on, and wait for all lights/systems etc to turn off, eventually the sound will return to normal. BUT if I give any command to the car (that is depressing the brake, however the brake lights will not come on while car is off), or controlling a window etc, the stuttering returns for a couple of minutes.
What I have done (Without success):
- Removed power from battery and connected it again (sort of a reboot)
- Rebooted some unit under back seat (image attached) (https://mbworld.org/forums/m-class-w...available.html)
- Rebooted a unit that looks like the amplifier in the back (image attached)
- I tried to get the Command Unit to go into "Engineering Mode" however I cannot seem to do this as it looks different than any unit showed on the forums/internet (image attached)
- Accidentally reset the Service interval timer.
- Checked for DTCs using ScanTool OBDWiz. There was some stored code: Ambient Temp sensor circuit is high (or something). I cleared the codes and have not encountered any codes again, even the Ambient Temp sensor.
Any help will greatly be appreciated!
