Dear Members,

I have had the same issue as many of the w164 owners have with regards to brake light failure followed by the message" back-up bulb ON".

I read many threads and did the required research, however it seem that this specific issue lies within another area in the car:

-No corrosion or build up due to arcing and then increase in the resistance of the system on the light panels.

- No electricity going to eithersides brake light plugs

Where do I look now?

According to the techs at Mbenz, this does not have a fuse but a control unit... I am not sure how this works..

I anyone can guide me or provide me with some assistance it would be grand!
