Can the bluetooth phone MB accessory transmit music?
Can this phone accessory (bluetooth phone over the speakers) also be hacked to transmit my music over bluetooth?
Alternatively... I'm driving the ML350 2006, does anyone know of a good way to modernize it with a bluetooth system that does not involve buying a FM transmitter? I like my music high quality...

carpro coolstream. Cool thing is you get the song data on the command system. There’s also the cool stream duo if you want cheaper and have the aux cord.

I wasn't able to find an AUX input in the car, anywhere. I only have the phone accessory, which seems to be for phones only and is very, very low quality sound... the one between the two front seats.
Any hints? Am I missing to look anywhere? There is the CD changer, in the glove compartment, but nowhere near it is any aux input as I saw on youtube videos.
P.S. That "coolstream" ancient box only accepts ancient iphone cable as input...

And to answer your original question, no, that puck-style device does not support bluetooth audio, it only does the phone hands-free.

thanks! hmm... now that I think about it, the car has a 6 CD changer and a cd player... the chances of not having the option to solder an AUX input somewhere are close to nil. I will explore that option. Recording CDs is too much hassle - compared to the option of having an AUX cable and just playing music directly from my phone.

If I were you I'd learn how to burn CD's with MP3 files. Lot cheaper than replacing the CD player because you burned a hole in the wrong place.

If you don't have the aux cable. Retrofit it.
It's been done before.

And the coolstream. No you are mistaken.
I mentioned two different ones. The carpro that uses the factory iPod unit for Bluetooth audio; and the duo which uses the aux port 3.5mm for Bluetooth audio ; using only the iPod to charge.

Mate....you should read instead of lashing out at others.
Op never confirmed that he had the 1/8 input; just the puck and even if he did it wouldn't solve what he wants to do; play music over Bluetooth.
But from a majority of the posts I've encountered you on; instead of giving useful advice, you tend to Criticise the op or anyone else instead of finding a solution.
Very helpful mate. 👌

If I wanted to lash out you'd notice. You'll get over it.
All 2006 ML's have AUX inputs. If you'd read the COMAND manual (and followed your own advice) you'd know that. The only way he doesn't have the *jack* as the source for the AUX input as described in the COMAND manual on page 82 is if he has the rear seat entertainment option, in which case that *is* the AUX source, and that is where he should be trying to figure out to connect, and not in the CD changer, especially since if he has the option with the DVD player, the player has not one but two AUX inputs where he might find it easier to make the mod. I still recommend burning MP3's, though. The AUX input will never approach the quality of the CD music system.

au contraire, I have read the manual. It does mention the aux input, but in the glove compartment everything is smooth as a baby bum. On the back, I have 2 lighters and AC but no AUX. In the middle between the two front seats, where the above bluetooth phone device is plugged in, the place where it does plug in is the phone system... are you calling that aux? Because as far as I know it has very low audio quality usable only for voice...
That famous "page 82" does have a aux input, but my CD changer in the glove box does not have it in front... have not disassembled it to see anything in the back, nor does it allow to be easily disassembled... thanks to all who chipped in - I am looking at the loooong guide on produsing an aux input link. OMG

You could have told us you're in the Middle East, Abu Dhabi, right? Makes a difference. You don't have a COMAND radio or entertainment system, your car has just the plain radio and CD changer. That's why you don't have an AUX plug.

So I checked every square cm of the car.... no aux. Looks like I need to cut through the glove compartment and install it myself as in the link previously shared. Btw... how did you find out my location from the VIN???

If the "chinch socket" (sounds like something out of a Cheech and Chong movie) is not in the right hand side of the glove compartment, google for that and you'll find videos on how to install it. Looks like you might need to buy the harness from Mercedes and just have it installed.
