06 ML500 key fob lock/unlock works intermittently
I have only one key (fob) and can't afford a second one from the dealership right now as a wise backup, so I'm looking for a temporary work around to lock and unlock my doors via the fob or even manually (unfortunately when I press the door lock button it locks all the doors except the driver door). When I use the key fob to try to lock or unlock the doors, at rare times it works perfectly fine instantly, but most times I need to press it 10-20 times, and there have been rare times where it took 5 min or more (then I finally take out the metal service key to get in). Most times it seems to help if I bang the fob against something (as if there's some bad connection inside), but I'm also afraid of creating further damage. I've already tried changing the battery. It starts the car every time with no problems. I've tried slightly bending the metal battery holder to ensure good connections. I Did accidently wash this key fob in the washing machine a couple times, but it didn't seem to cause any change thankfully. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi, my main battery to the car went flat and after jump starting the car my central locking is now working intermittently. On day it may work a few times then others it doesn’t work at all. Any suggestions?
