ML350
ML350 W164 Power steering fail
1. Driven the car about 16 miles wihtout power steering fluid

2. Replaced pump with a new Bosch pump

3. Pump heating to a boiling point and power steering not working

4. Could the speed solonoid can be faulty or the rack is gone ?

You were supposed to replace the reservoir.
