New here, need MB tech advice/fuel system

Hello. 1st post. Just got my wife’s 2011 ml350 blutech two brand new air filters and a brand new fuel filter. Her air filters hadn’t been replaced in 90k miles and I cannot see how there was even 10% air flow after seeing them. Also it had, upon removal, THE ORIGINAL FUEL FILTER. Her truck currently has 140k on it. We had a check engine light on and had it read. It first came back with 13 codes all dealing with the fuel system (surprise!) and after the filter changes still came back with 9 codes. What doesn’t make sense to me is that the remaining codes look be be things that would’ve been remedied by the new filters. Any input is appreciated.

After new filters....had driven 20 miles or so

Before new filters

First of all, diesel engines do not have "P" codes in any module. The ECM has 30 pages of codes none of which are "P" codes.

You must own your scanner to delete the codes after every repair that you perform otherwise they will remain stored and show up again.

Thanks for the reply and link.
We have a 2011 Ml350 Bluetech. I went to auto zone for both those code printouts and that is what they handed me. Not sure about the “P” situation.
I had forgotten to mention that after the repair was done, I went back to the garage and he plugged the Mercedes reader/tool back in before I’d gone back to Auto Zone for the second readout. 4 of the codes disappeared but 9 were still there. Unfortunately, I wound up finding out what those codes were for....
the dreaded diesel particulate filter. You know, the thing from the dealer that is $5K to replace on an ‘11 with 140K or so miles and a BB value of 6-7K..... the thing that once you replace it for $5K or have it cleaned (by the way there is absolutely NO one in my area that does the cleaning) for $500, that will clog up again in short order due to whatever problem(s) caused it to clog up in the first place? Evidently my truck is not regenerating on its own. So now I’m toying with the idea of having it cut out. I’m so DONE with this vehicle. Not sure what happens to the ad blue at that point after the truck is tuned for the deleted DPF. And oh yeah, there’s some kind of sensor in the DEF tank that is bad, so they say. The truck has not used a DROP of diesel exhaust fluid in over a year. And that is conservatively guessing… I think it’s actually longer. Not a DROP.
Can I have the ad blue defeated at the same shop that does the reprogramming after the DPF is cut out? I’m lost with all of this. We just need this truck to last about another year.
btw.....knock on wood.....it still runs WELL. very smooth, quiet (for a diesel)
Any and all feedback/recommendations are greatly appreciated.

I have to find the link again, but there’s a gentleman on here who did exactly that… Cut out the diesel particulate filter then got it reprogrammed (I think he did it himself). I wanted to ask him though, what he did with the blue DEF situation at that point.
thanks again

Is this reader better?

This one seems to be able to clear DPF codes as well as do manual DPF regen

Why don't you change the DPF pressure sensor, as suggested in your printout?

I’m not very handy when it comes to mechanics, forgive me. What would that entail, how difficult is that and what would that do exactly?
thanks

Call Autozone for a quote?

The sensor(s) simply plug in, it's a five minute job. My model has two of them, I'm not sure about your model but as they mention "bank A" being the culprit, I'd suggest there may be a "bank B" too? I replaced both to be sure I got the right one!

They cost me about £35 each here in the UK, I'd expect them to be cheaper in the States?

that isn’t very expensive at all. Are these sensors located on or near the DPF, itself. Looks like I have some reasearch ahead of me, lol.

On mine they are above the tail of the gearbox. They are a bit fiddly to work with due to tight access, they each connect to two rubber tubes and an electrical connection.
