P0128 code

1995 sl320 and 2011 ml350
P0128 code
Just driving and suddenly got CEL on my 2011 ML350 4Matic. The code shows P0128 which indicates a bad thermostat. I have been driving the car for 2 days now and the engine temperature will rise to 90 C and stays there. I'm not sure if it is the normal running temperature, but it has not given me problem as to overheating the car. I'm beginning to think it's the coolant temperature sensor that is bad and not the thermostat. Would it also give a P0128 code if the coolant temperature sensor is bad? Will anyone let me know what the real problem here. Thank you.

I have another question to ask you about the engine coolant on this 2011ml350 4matic. Since I am changing the thermostat, I know I'll be losing coolant and need to top it off afterwards. What's on the suv now is yellow coolant, but the one I bought at MB dealer was blue coolant. Can I mix the two coolants together? I don't know if it's compatible. Please advise. Thanks.

Either stick with the Yellow which is Zerex G-05 or G48 if you want to go with the Blue you would have to drain the entire eng. which also calls for draining both sides of the bottom of the engine block.

Do you have the link on how to replace the thermostat and on how to drain, flush and fill with new engine coolant on this SUV? Hope these are not hard to do. Thank you again.
