I'm finally diving into a suspension refresh on my 2011 ML350 4Matic and I'm looking for some real-world feedback! I'm replacing the shocks, struts, and springs, and I definitely want to lower the vehicle a little bit from the stock height.
From what I've been reading, the Bilstein B12 kit paired with H&R lowering springs seems like a solid setup.Has anyone here run this exact combo (or something similar) on their ML? How was the ride quality, and are you happy with the drop/stance?
Any and all recommendations based on your experiences are welcome and greatly appreciated.

Does it have Airmatic? If yes then you might be able to drop it to ML63 settings whether that's with adjustable rods on the level sensors or some programming. Also consider that switching from Airmatic to coil overs or standard struts will made the ride much harder.

If you have stock suspension, then the rear suspension is adjustable by way of shims on the spring seats. These are readily available from MB.

I don't have Airmatic. I have two cracked springs in the rear--I mind as well change all four shocks and springs while I'm at it.

That's fair. If you can find the spring specs, you might find some Mopar springs to be suitable... thinking Grand Cherokee/Durango SRT.given they're distant cousins of the W164.

I tried H&R springs and handling was way better, but comfort was sacrificed, and roads are pretty bad here so I changed back. However, it was with stock shocks in front and rear Bilstein B6s, so might be different with the Bilstein B12 kit.

The Ceika coilovers are definitely something I want to try out in the future.
