The ride height seems quite low. Is that because of the AMG package? or these 4 guys are just very tall. 
Having a hard time deciding btw this and the G350.

I don’t know, maybe it’s me but the more I look at the photos of the 2012 the more it looks like what a 1-series (X1) BMW would look like if BMW went in that direction.
It looks like a “mini-ute” instead of what the next ML should have looked like. Even the wheels look small in most of the photos I have seen and I know they’re not.
I just hope it will look much better in person.

i may have to wait till january. We just turned in a Q7 and wanted the smaller ML, but want the gizmos: HIDs, sport appearance package, etc. and they're not available initially. We may have to wait it out to get the goodies, instead of settling.

Options
Same here. All those goodies add up the price fast. I'm looking at Premium 2, Dynamic Handling, Auburn Brown Leather, Lighting, Interior Sports, & hitch. Probably pushing $15k. Didn't see a listing for the standard (not panorama) sunroof in the ordering guide.

Special Edition 1 model to be introduced for the market launch
As part of the market launch of the new M-Class, Mercedes-Benz will be offering a limited special model called “Edition 1”. Among other things, this vehicle will feature an AMG sports package for the exterior as well as an especially exclusive and impressive interior. Customers can also begin ordering the M-Class Edition 1 on July 11, with prices beginning at €55,700 (€66,283 including 19 percent sales tax) for the ML 250 BlueTEC 4MATIC Edition 1.
So, if the AMG package is available to Europe by November, it should also be available here, unless the marketing people muddy things up. The price in Europe is a whopping €9500 (not including VAT), but that is for both exterior and interior. US will likely get separate packages for those.
