Show me your front license plate holder
I need to mount a front license plate and I do not want to drill holes in the bumper. If you have a dealer mounted front plate, can you investigate and let me know how they did it. Any pictures would help.
thanks in advance.

My dealer delivered my ML with the front license plate holder in the spare tire bay. Which is where it belongs! (I hate front license plates. Fortunately, I live in a state that doesn't require them).

Ugh, I hate this in VA.
We decided to roll the dice & drive without our front plates because of the drilling.
Now, we have to drive a bit more careful on not get behind the 5-0 for fear of being spotted.

I did that for a couple years, but the extra anxiety and opportunity to get stopped made me got the tow hook bracket route. I no longer have to fine a place to hide when around law enforcement, which makes for a more relaxing experience.

Looks good Greg. How far from the bumper does the plate sit? I imagen this is a very sturdy bracket? My main concern is that my ML550 with the AMG bumpers has a huge tow hook cover vs the ML350s. I'm not sure if that is going to be an issue.

The bracket sets within an inch or so of the bumper. The height and angle are adjustable. I've had mine for about a year with no issues (looking at the photo, looks like I need to tweak it 1 degree clockwise, though).

Front plate mounting
Used the stock front plate holder, but mounted it to the lower grille using bolts with large washers. I like how it sets below the main feature line of the chrome trim. I wouldn't mount one, but Portland meter patrol has started slapping $55 tickets for no front plate when parked!

Dealer drilled ='/
Offset lic plate: What if you take your vehicle through a soft touch car wash? won't it bend the lic plate. It sticks so far out?
My case: 17 year old valet got my car when plates came in. By the time I walked out to the see where he would install the plates he had installed the rear plates and drilled a hole directly into the front chrome portion of the bumper. He says, I guess that is going to be permanent. The GM just happened to be in the car port and assured me that if there was every any issue he would "replace the bumper." I guess... I'm ok with it ... The car wash already ripped off the license plate frame, but the plate and holder stayed behind.

I like the offset look of the GoMiniGo. I'd preorder one for my '13 ML, but want to be sure of the size per the Web site instructions. Can anyone tell me which will fit?
Greg, why did you not use that for your newer ML?

Mocking it up, I didn't like the way it hid a good part of the chorme feature element on one side. I like it on the W164, but not on this one. You may need to call them to determine best fit; have your tow hook available to measure diameter.

Anybody find a good way to fill the holes left behind when you remove the front bracket? My Florida ML is originally from a front plate State and I have 4 holes in the bumper. Kind of looks OK but I'd rather disguise them somehow. I know a new chrome bumper piece would be $$$ !
