Thermatic 2 zone vs Thermotronic 3 zone Climate Control

Hi all,

Just wondering if the Thermotronic 3 zone is worth ordering? I gather it also has additional vents in the B pillar to aid with airflow in the back seat.

I always find it frustrating when your a passenger in the back and not getting adequate airflow, also good for young children on warm days to help cool the rear quicker.

Any thoughts or feedback on this would be greatly appreciated.

Hos.

I Bought the two zone and its perfect imo . The 3 zone is fancier specially for the rear passenger but mine never complained:rolleyes:

It depend if u want spend $790 or not. In addition to adding more vent, they put more filters. The regular climate control filters pollen and I think dust(not to sure) but the three zone one pick up much more(you won't smell the truck that u just pull behind). Also if you get the the three zone, there a sensor in the windshield that automatic defog it

The 3-zone gives you a series of fan settings, which can make your drive quieter with less of a sitting-in-front-of-a-fan feeling if you select "diffuse". It also returns the missing (in the US) Zone button so you can easily revert to single zone control -- something that drives me nuts with the base model here.

Can someone explain how the Rest function works? Is it just that the interior heating system will continue to run after you shut down the engine by drawing residual heat from the coolant? Does it actively circulate the coolant to extract the most heat from the engine block?

The REST function on most cars runs a small pump on the heater circuit to circulate hot coolant and the AC fan for up to 30 minutes after the engine is shut off. In summer mode I think it just runs the fan from what I've heard.

US cars don't get REST, btw.
