has anyone black wrapped their chrome trim?
I saw a white ML in my area a few days ago, the guy had blacked out all this chrome trims around the windows, bumpers, even the "ML 350" and "bluetec" were blacked out.
is this done simply with vinyl wrap? anyone do this, pics to share? I know BMW used to (most probably still does) offer the Sports package that would automatically delete all chrome trimmings, I want to do the same to my ML. thanks |
I did the same. I used Plastidip to black out all the chrome. Very easy to do and it is reversable. Google Plastidip, there are many vids on youtube. I did all the trim in one afternoon.

Used PlastiDipp to paint the chrome bits, However I would suggest putting a minimum of 5 coats so it can be easy to remove if you decide to remove it.
Here is mine when plasti dipped. https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...40b127e939.jpg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...e0a2a512c5.jpg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...b64e517801.jpg I wanted to see how it will look blacked out, it turned out quite interesting the first 2 days but then I got bored and decided to peal it off but I kept the badges as it is. hope it helps :) |
I vinyl wrapped the chrome in the bumpers on the sport package. Looks much more aggressive.search my posts for pictures in a previous thread. I left other chrome accents like trim , numbers, led drl's chrome. I didn't want to go all black.

Here is mine wrapped in satin black. Rims are OEM (not wrapped).
