''Auxiliary battery malfunction''
Hi MB fans,
I got that message this morning while I was starting to drive like Hamilton with my ml63 and switching from Confort to S+
The message: ''Auxiliary battery malfunction'' apperared when I pressed the suspension switch...
What is it exactly?
Thanks so much in advance.

Auxiliary battery probably has low voltage or the control device that connects it may be faulty.
Electrical items like power windows etc run off the rear battery.

You can drive normally without the aux battery. Mine went out in Jan and I drove for a week before I had time to take it to the dealer. Battery had shorted out and was replaced under warranty.
Not sure exactly what the aux battery is used for but all functions worked normally (windows, etc.)

If the main battery voltage drops below a set figure, the battery control module connects the auxiliary battery to make sure engine crank over for start......aux bat not normally connected for starting.
