ambient lights question
 

To those of you who have this package, did you have your W166 custom built or did you manage to find it with the package? just asking out of my own curiosity

I bought CPO, had it.

what packages/features yours had if you dont mind my asking?

I, too, bought a '14 ML350 2w CPO that had the ambient lighting package. Code 876 on page 2 of the MSRP. P1 as well.

drwolf, yep! I keep pinching myself when I remember the deal. Listed for $41,500 with 30,400 miles. We were looking for the ventilated seats (Texas) and got all the other goodies. Dealer gave us the mid range of the KBB value of the wife's Infiniti so we got the benefit of the tax differential. Did all the negos by email/text. Got to the dealer (133 miles away), inspected and test drove. They looked over the Infiniti and in 12 mins they said ok. 1 hour later we were on our way home. '14 ML350 CPO's are still being advertised for $41k+ with MSRP's below $60k. Once in a lifetime....

i got mine with 26K miles on it, it comes with alot of things (Xenons, parktronic, HK logic7, Trailer, illuminated running boards, etc..) but not what you have, in CA most of the CPO's dont have the packages that i have, once in a while they show up, id say 90% arent fully loaded

Which ambient lights are you referring to? I thought I had it on my 2014 ML350 but the options to adjust color is not available in the Settings menu.
BTW- We picked it up last week (CPO w/40,000, P1, Lane Tracking, Blind Spot, Lane Keeping, Lighting Package, Bi-Xenons, Keyless-Go, Trailer Hitch, Running Boards) for $34K including Extended MB Warranty Unlimited mileage until 2021. Hope that was a good deal.

Certainly looks like a good deal esp with the 2 ys addl CPO. Here's the ambient lighting instructions from pg 275 of the OM.

I read that page in the OM, went out to the Vehicle and I do not have those options in my Settings Menu. I thought it would be the same as my 2014 E350- Nope!

drwolf, you wanna see stacked? The options depreciate so fast. '14 ML3504m, 40k on the clock. MSRP $74,310. Asking $41,800. BUT, no ventilated seats, no running board lights, no trailer hitch, no Distronic, no Lane Keeping Assist.

the ones that are below the side dash panels front and back driver/passenger and rear passenger left side right side, the cup holders (non heated cooled) under front driver/passenger footwells, and driver and front passenger door sills the ones you can change three colors

i thought about adding BSA but for the OEM parts/install quote was near 4K for install

adding the ambient lights will probably nee to go and find OEM dash/side panels/door sills, too much money, im not in the car at night alot but would have nice to have the blue all inside the car

I didn't even know I had this feature until I read this thread. Thanks! Just changed the setting to Polar (blue), but it looks weird because you just get a thin blue strip of lighting in the dash/doors, but all the rest of the lighting in the car stays amber, so it's a mismatch. Changed it right back to Solar. Lol

That's so funny. I knew we had it but I never fooled with it. Now I gotta. I had my Durango for 6 months before I realized there was a button on the overhead console that would open the lift gate. I had a Citizen watch that was analog and digital for 6 months before I read that you could swap time zones between them by pressing 2 buttons at the same time. If I do read the directions I start on page 4......

i was leasing a W212 (2014 E350) and same thing, it had the lights but i didnt bother to change it, but i do miss it being somewhat lit inside

Exactly my thoughts when I was changing the colors.

Yeah, if they let you change the color of the strip lighting, they should have all the interior lighting to match the color change. This feature is useless.

i wouldnt say its useless, i mean at least it isnt super pitch black inside at nightime (even with the current dim lights there is now)

Yep, I mean the changing of colors is useless. All they need to do is provide the Solar (amber) lighting (to match the rest of the lighting in the car). The other choices are useless cause they don't match.

i have the idea, the ML CPO's sell like crazy, the ones that have more features leave the lot faster than the ones that dont have anything in them other than P1.
