2014 ML350 Transmission Fluid Change
I am second owner of this car and have had great experience so far. I bought the car with 68K miles and an extended warranty that was transferrable.
I am looking for some guidance around the transmission service requirements for this car, more as a preventive measure rather than experiencing any issues with it. I have 96K miles on it now. I called the dealer inquiring about the service and got quoted $455, and was told;
" Mercedes does not recommend a flush on the transmission. It is a drain and fill service"
Wondering if drain and fill is the way to go on this model. What about the filter/gasket etc. that I have seen on few threads and youtube.
Thanks.

It does required to change filter and gasket and also warm the trany and add fluid.
And its in ML maintenance book I believe at 80K service.

” lifetime transmission fluid” But clearly they revised this for a reason. If you haven’t done the service or you think you don’t need it. You are wrong. At least in my case it made a difference in how the car drives and I am very happy about it.

Thanks for posting this. I have been having clunky downshifts for a while now and of course MB says " cannot not replicate" when I take it in...if anyone knows of a coupon that would be awesome to get the trans serviced....Mikeywilz how much did they charge you for it or did you go to an indy shop? Thanks
