Aftermarket / 3-party warranty
I have appreciated reading the forums since buying my 2015 ML350 earlier this year. So far it has been a great car. The factory warranty is about to expire and I reached out to several MB warranty / finance contacts recommended in the forum to get pricing on a ELW plan and was told my car is not eligible - I am the second owner and did not buy from a MB dealer; I bought if from a NON MB dealer. In all my reading I did not see this point.
Question: does anyone have good experience / recommendations for an aftermarket / 3rd party warranty company?
Thanks, Paul

MB Extended Warranty Source
I also purchased my 2012 ML350 4 Matic from a non-MB Dealer before the original 4year/50,000 mile warranty expired. I contacted the following gentleman who helped me purchase an additional three year/75,000 mile MB extended warranty at a reasonable price.

The transaction was easy and very straight forward via email and over the phone.

I also didn't get my ML from MB dealer, but I was able to get extended warranty from MB.
My contact was Cassandra (414-543-3000 ext 115) from International Autos Milwaukee, and the price was $1k cheaper than my local NJ dealers.
Good luck!

Oldoarsman & MBSand, thanks for your info. At this point I am absolutely confused. I talked to two people mentioned on this forum:
Jeff Jackson: who said ""According to the warranty system from MBUSA, this vehicle does not qualify for the MBUSA Extended Limited Warranty. ""
Cassandra Castro: who said "" Unfortunately Mercedes doesn’t allow you to add it if you are not the original owner.""
Just got off the phone with MBUSA customer service and they said the ELW is only available to the original purchaser.
So, maybe owners are getting warranties that they think are from MB, but are really aftermarket?? I will check in with Jeff Santos and see what he can offer.

You may need to register your car to their owners site, so MBUSA knows you are the new owner, before you do anything. This is what I did at least.

Just to confirm, the warranty I purchased from Jeff Santos is a Mercedes warranty, and it does show in the system at my dealership and on the “Mercedes Me” site.
Jeff was very easy to work with.
Good luck!

I have a 2014 ML400 with 45 K on the clock. I've been told several times that it all depends on the MB dealer that took the car back in. If they changed the owner to None, then the MB is no longer available for extended warranty. Mine is showing as none, and I'm ready to buy and can't. If I would have known I wouldn't have purchased it.

Jeff Jackson at tafel motors is the guy to call on the gl forums. He’s really competitive from what I read.

try Troy at Fd warranty. It’s a fidelity plan and aftermarket but he is really easy to work with. Be sure to look through what the platinum plan covers.

If it was me - in the morning call the Roadside Assistance # with your VIN# and see if that group will add your name to the VMI - if that can be done then you might be able to get something done..
