M275 Maintenance

Hi all,

I was wondering what methods everyone uses to keep their M275 clean? I have removed the engine cover, and the engine is not filthy, but could stand to be detailed and have some dirt and grime removed. I have had mixed results in the past wetting an engine, so I would want to know up front if anyone has any experience on the best way to clean this engine?

Also, what are the experience on fuel? Obviously E10 Premium is the most common fuel available, but E0 93 RON is available for a little more. Does this engine run better with the 10% Ethanol, or pure gas?

Does anyone use any fuel additives occasionally such as Techron in their fuel systems? I have steered away from these additives in the past, but would be curious to know if anyone has experiences they would like to share.

Thank you.

Stay away from fuel and oil additives If you want best oil to keep your engine like new inside and have minimum wear use Motul 300v Ester core 0w40 or 5w40 change year around or 4000km.
PS I always put EU spec 98 fuel. I think eu98 is US 93 or 95 octane
if you want to clean injector and decarbonize cylinders from inside aswell as intake valves and intake ports. Go to Engine Decrabonizing service like Terra Clean. When u add injector cleaner additive to fuel it takes gunk from fuel tank and gunks up the injectors more

Do you have any suggestions on cleaning the engine safely?

Yes. But this is not cheap way. but this is for sure best and safest way to do engine flush if you want to do it without any risks of damaging seals, O-rings and other stuff . Change Oil an filter and Change again around 600 miles or 1000 miles do it two times. engine will be like new from inside. I personally change oil every 2500 miles every time because I street race often and my car goes on high rpm often you could change every 3000-3500 miles if u dont floor your pedal that much but 3500miles is max if u want to keep your engine new from inside .

there are Five Groups in engine oils and how they are made and from what they are made of 1st being most cheap to make and 5th the most expsive.

1) Mineral OIL (made from crude Oil) 0% synthetic
2) Hydrocracking oil (this is like high Grade Mineral oil made from crude oil) Half Synthetic
3) Rough Hydrocracking ( Highest quality oil you can make from crude oil) Half Synthetic
4) PAO or PolyAlfaOlefin ( this oil is made in Lab is 100% synthitic, expensive and very sophisticated synthesis) costs 3x more to make then #3
5) Ester Base Oil (100% synthetic costs 2x more to make then #4 (PAO) . and has best properties to battle friction and temps

So Basicly last 2 oil Groups are True 100% synthetic oil but By the law oil companies can write full synthetic = on oil groups #2 and #3 oil wich are not full synthetic at all and full synthetic must have meant its PAO or Ester Oil. In China , Japan and Taiwan they cannot write full synthetic on their #2 and #3 oil bottles by the Law. Germany and Austria has neutral position where #2 and #3 group oils state SHC Synthetic wich means Synthetic Hydro cracking synthese technology. on the same oil made for rest of world on bottle is written full synthetic but In reality they are not . I am uploading pictures of Mobil1 made for USA and Rest of world excl. China , Taiwan Japan , Germany, Austria. And same bottle made for Germany and Austria. wich state different things.

This is why Motul is the Best oil on the market today simply because they make highest grade true 100% synthetic oils . PAO #4 or #Ester.
Ester oils are used for racing.
PAO is too very good quality oil . So If you dont want to use pricey Ester core 300v Motul you can you Non Ester based Motul oil wich is still high quality and engine will love it.
I ve seen many new unused oil tests in labs to determine highest quality oil by their properties and how they Behave . on test were all the biggest oil companies there are like castrol mobil shell liquimolly and other. Motul won all the tests. This Motul oil in the picture is alternative to Motul 300v oil Ester oil and is ture 100% synthetic. I could not find Mobil Shell or Castrol wich are true synthetic oils but castrol Syntec series wich is made only for germany is tue PAO oil
