I gave up. I couldn't pry it off with the plastic tools I have. And I afraid of damaging it with a metal tool.
I done it before with the plastic tool on the header of the V8. The challenge is the position of the oil pan on this V12.
I wonder how they do it at the dealer shop. There are no mention of a special tool in WIS beside the Loctite 7200.

I ended up putting the whole thing back as I wasn't able to separate the pans. I got a heat gun too but didn't think of it...
I will definitely try this trick. Perhaps at the next oil change. Thank you.

Oil pan leaking (again)
I though I would revive this old thread instead of making a new one since they are so closely related.
About a year ago I dropped the lower oil pan on my M275 and put a new gasket on it with the approved Mercedes gasket maker because it was leaking before that.
At the time when I was removing the oil pan some of the paint came off the pan. Instead of repainting it I had it sandblasted and salt bath nitrided so I would never have to worry about paint pealing off again.
Fast forward a year later and 5,000 miles I notice that oil is starting to weep around almost the entire oil pan.
What are your thoughts on what could be causing it and what would you think the solution to stop it would be?
Is an aftermarket oil seal made for this instead of making your own gasket with the gasket maker paste stuff?

In the directions for reinstalling the new bolts to attach the lower oil pan it says: "threaded not pre-tapped 14nm or threaded pre tapped 9nm:
What does "pre-tapped" and "not pre-tapped" mean in this situation? Which torque value do you use 9nm or 14nm?
