Turbo to intercooler pipe

Any thoughts on if there would be an advantage to open these up, they start at 1.6" and then neck down to curve around the coils to 1.3"....then it goes to 2" at the intercooler, bought a set off ebay and thought I would modify them to remove the "pinch" and open them to 2" most of the way through the pipe......

If there is space, why not. The air slows down in the IC's anyway, but removing as much restriction from the inlet and outlet as possible will give better boost response and lower charge temperatures.
