Transmission swap: Delayed gear engagement and rough shifting
Hello, my name is Derek. I own a 2004 s600, and recently had to replace the original transmission (110k miles) with a used tested transmission from a private seller that originally came from a wrecked 2001 cl600 (42k miles).

After the transmission swap I noticed:
- There was a delay when shifting from park to reverse.
- When driving the car still jerks when changing gears.
- Car is extremely sluggish.

Delayed shift
Did it get better with time? I assume that its the transmission relearning and the new fluids causing that. I just got my c300 2008 back on road by swapping same model/submodel/year transmission from a wreck car and the same thing is happening to me right now, even after driving car for 40 miles

It takes a long time before the transmission has learned your driving style (might be 400 miles, might be 2000 miles). It this problem stays, I'd recommend replacing/repairing the valve body. Check out Sonnax 722.6 on this
