You are looking at one of the nicest, most reliable 300SEL 6.3 examples on the planet.

I will let the undoctored cellphone photos under different light conditions do most of the talking (more photographs available upon request). The glossy exterior, immaculate interior, carefully manicured engine bay and extremely clean underbody showcase a 6.3 that has been loved, maintained and preserved to the highest standars, regardless of the cost.

It is thanks to this devotion and dedication that we ended up with a German engineering masterpiece that looks beautiful but ALSO performs the way it did when it left the factory.

Everything works in this car: The Becker radio, dash clock, cold and powerful air conditioning (even under the hot Florida summer) and the silky air suspension paired to its powertrain.

A little note regarding our 6.3's powertrain and its reliability: This is a low mileage example and as a result, it is very safe, comfortable and reliable. It is a real treat to take my wife and our 2 year old daughter (strapped to her baby carrier on the backseat) for a cruise around town.

As a car guy, however, there are very few experiences as rewarding as cruising in a +/-50 year old car that keeps up with modern interstate traffic knowing that a gentle tap of the gas pedal will transform this gorgeous creature into the growling Autobahn monster it is famous for. The looks on the faces of other drivers as this classic Mercedes-Benz thunders by? Priceless!

A little history and specifics on this car:

- Owned by Mercedes-Benz enthusiasts and MBCA members for the past 33 years.

- Per RM Sotheby's, this car went thru a ground up restoration at the tune of USD $85,000 in 2002 and it shows. Most mechanical components inside the engine bay and under the body are "new" factory Mercedes-Benz parts; many of them NLA.

- During the restoration process, a period correct high performance twin pipe exhaust system was installed. NOT your regular chop'n cut-shop-special. (Look at undercarriage photos).

- No cracks on dashboard. Dash wood is uncracked and it looks new (see photos).

- Original headliner in mint condition.

- Not a single cut or rip on the leather seats. Carpet looks new.

- Absolutely no rust under the body, suspension components (most of them look new anyways), wheel wells, jack points, door jams, window sills, engine bay or floor pans (please see photos).

- Recent service/maintenance work performed by one of the most prestigious M100 experts in the US includes:
oNew thermo time switches,
oHeater box service.
oR134a A/C serviced by installing new low/high pressure fittings, new A/C compressor, new expansion valve and new receiver dryer.
oIgnition timing calibration
oNew OEM fuel injection pump installation.
oPower steering box rebuild.
oFactory radio rebuild.
oAll front end components inspected and re-torqued. (Receipts for this work available upon request).

- The car needs:
oPassenger windows work intermitently. I believe this could be an issue with the switches as this problem comes and goes.



I have described our 300SEL 6.3 to the best of my abilities. You can either find a cheaper example that "needs some work", or pay a little more up front for a pristine 6.3 like the one you see here. Should you choose the former, your wallet could become another casualty of the M100 fever after spending tens of thousands of dollars to bring a project car back to Mercedes-Benz specifications. And at the end of the day, you will not have a car that looks and drives like ours.
