Description:
Forum friends, here is a copy of my craigslist ad. I would rather sell to one of you than a random.
PRICE: $5,000
My 2001 s430 is going up for sale. This car is my child, and was my wife when I was single--you will not find one more well tended to. At this high of mileage, it is rare to find a car that was purchased from the first owner and maintained to one-owner standards. I have every original sales document and receipt from the Mercedes dealership where it was serviced for the first 130,000 miles and I have taken it to 189,000k. I have re-done nearly everything that could go wrong with the car in the next 100,000 miles and I will list some below:
The man before me was large and made the drivers seat not very comfortable, as the foam had compressed, so I had a new Mercedes OEM cushion put in (Not cheap)
New rear airmatic struts
New front airmatic struts (oem mercedes)
Creaking started to happen so I had the ENTIRE front suspension redone:
New outer tie rod (I have the inners but they are not installed. A shop will put them in for $50-$100)
New lower control arm
New upper control arm
New tension strut
New main ball joint
New radiator fan belt
New Aux. coolant pump (this is used for the "rest" feature that heats the cabin while the car is not running)
In the last 5,000 miles I put brand new pads and rotors at the rear and the front rotors were done within the last 15,000. I always buy the highest end pads and rotors.
The man I bought the car from never had any passengers in the car and and that is why all the leather on seats are near new except for the steering wheel leather.
Just put on New Nokien all-seasons (the best in the business)
The only thing that has changed since I took the exterior photos is that I got the headlights redone so they are now crystal clear and very bright.
One last thing to note, when I replaced ONE of the front struts, I did not replace it with an OEM Mercedes one. Because of this I just ordered an OEM strut and will put it on before you purchase the car. Also, I just changed the oil last week as well as the transmission fluid.
I understand I am asking probably $1000 more than similar mileage cars on here but it doesn't take an enthusiast to see the value in the condition and replacement of parts. SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY.
