Description:
TL;DR at bottom.
I'm selling my used AVIN head unit: https://avinusa.com/8-multimedia-nav...w211-w219.html
This was installed in my 2004 E55 for about 6 months, but I've changed to another head unit for a more comprehensive audio install (optical out). All functions work - Bluetooth (recently upgraded the firmware, now includes aptX codec support), radio, backup camera (if you have one), and front/dash camera if you have one.
I'm including the android auto/carplay USB dongle in the sale. This supports WIRED android auto and apple carplay, via USB connection... and it also supports screen mirroring for android phones. (The unit does have HDMI input, which I believe iPhones can screen mirror with the right HDMI cable, but do your own research on that one). I'm also including the MOST fiber optic decoder, so if you wanted to interface this directly to your Mercedes stock amplifier you can do that using this box. Also including the canbus decoder, which allows the unit to support steering wheel buttons. Also including all harnesses that I have.
This unit was optioned out with:
"PX6 | 4GB RAM | 64GB ROM | 6-core CPU | Android 10"
"Optional Advanced DSP Chipset with 15 EQ Band"
If you're unsure if this will install into your vehicle, please check youtube, there's a few videos out there about installing android head units into E-class cars.
If you have a Harman Kardon comand system, you will have to run new wires for the antenna (to connect at the stock audio gateway), or install an aftermarket antenna (easier option), or you will not get radio reception. This is true for all aftermarket radios
There are some minor issues with the radio, non-cosmetic. If you're interested, PM me and we can discuss in full detail.
TL;DR:
Included:
- AVINUSA 8" head unit
- android auto/carplay USB dongle
- MOST fiber optic interface (version 1)
- canbus decoder
- external GPS antenna (provided by AVIN)
- external mic (provided by AVIN)
- PX6
- Internal DSP
- aptX bluetooth support
Again, please please please click the link above to see the actual product in detail.

For whoever still wants this, after hearing all that, my strong suggestion is to purchase a quality isolator to rid the noise from the system. The problem with these units is that they just cannot filter out the noise, and it becomes part of the signal, so even sending it over the fiber decoder is noisy. One option is https://www.minidsp.com/products/acc...inidc-isolator for a quality isolator at a fair price. get someone to 3D print a little enclosure and you'll hopefully be good to go.
I've edited my earlier post to reflect the more accurate recollection of events.
