I had my car at the dealership for recall work and they advised that I replace the harmonic damper. Rather than have them do the job I ordered the parts and tool and did it myself. Once I took the fan shroud off and had a good look at it I was sorry I had ordered a new one. The original one looked fine. No cracking of the rubber front or back. Since I already had the new one that I could not return I installed it.

If you have a damper that has come apart and need to get your car up and running without paying nearly $500 for a new damper this is worth a look. Full disclosure, this damper was manufactured on 09/2005 and has accumulated 130k miles.
