Description:
Mercedes SLK R171 Footwell Accent Light Bulb. (Price is for 2 bulbs). Properly controllable by the car’s indoor system. Will change color to amber when dimmed and is acting as accent lighting. Unlike common LEDs this will dim properly similar to the original incandescent bulb. The color and intensity will match the amber LED under your rear view mirror (Please don’t confuse with the two map lights). This is a similar hue to the lights on the dials of the car console and steering wheel. When ignition key is removed or door is opened, the LED will change to bright white.
Dimness is adjustable. See the picture. You will need a small eyeglass screw driver.
You will need to replace both light bulbs for proper operation.
Price is for 2 bulbs.
This will work for all SLK R171 only AND Your car must be fitted with the optional light package for it to have footwell lights.

Can you adjust the brightness while it's on? IE: To see how bright it gets or do you have to adjust when it's off to not burn anything up? Does the brightness setting affect both amber and white or only amber?
