Ended up selling my 2015 gl350 and pulled these items out. I have a wireless carplay box I bought from aliexpress from a store called carsara. Worked wonderfully well. I did not run the aux cable to the center dash to get the audio but the cable is inlcuded if you want to do that. I was okay with just using bluetooth. If you jump in the car, wireless carplay instantly pops up and the audio smartly connects to the cars bluetooth but you're essentially connecting it individually. If you leave the bluetooth area of the car while its on and come back, it auto connects to the carplay when you get back and you have to swipe down on your phone and switch the now playing airplay to mb bluetooth instead of carplay. Install time is very quick, less than an hour. well worth it to bring the dated system up to modern tech.
I also bought a dash cam that replaced the end cap on the rear view mirror. Integrates perfectly, records audio and video pretty well. I also have random accessories like door pockets that match the tan and brown interior and some seat gap blockers. also and arm rest tray. Will include these accessories for free with the dash cam purchase as its color matched only for tan interiors.
