Description:
I'm leaving the country in Spring 2023, so selling my car.
For sale a black/palomino 252,000 miles 1992 300D with 1987 OM603 3.0 turbodiesel, with almost same mileage (+- 3000). Matching sensors and vacuum elements. I know this car in and out. Previous owner is on this forum (multiple MB owner) and did the swap, I bought the car from him and restored the rest. Car was repainted around 2010.
1992-1997 NJ, 1997-2012 FL, ~2012-now TX. No rust anywhere. Clean carfax, clean blue TX title.
Last 3 years:
- complete suspension rebuilt front and rear, springs/struts are now 1987 300D spec,
- 722.3 transmission rebuilt,
- new AC components and rebuilt vacuum pods,
- new monovalve,
- new turbo and exhaust,
- annual diesel purge,
- oil change every 4k miles with MoS2,
- rebuilt PS pump,
- recent tires,
- restored wood trim,
- new Alpine/Pioneer speakers,
- bluetooth radio,
- keyless,
- new cooling system down to the water pump housing,
- coolant flush,
- rebuilt injectors and new delivery valve seals,
- euro lights,
- new ignition tumbler,
- adjustable steering column retrofit,
- new CV axles,
- all new brakes,
- new rear wheel bearings,
- LED interior illumination,
- new glow plugs and afterglow gp relay,
- rebuilt monowiper,
- rebuilt washer nozzles,
- cruise control and CCU unit resoldered...
Rear bumper replaced and repainted because someone hit me on NYE while parked. Shortly after I was “kissed” while shopping at gas station, but the impression is barely visible, so I did not do anything. Car has a front dash cam that is included with sale.
All fluids in spec and fresh - coolant is Zerex with fluorescent leak detection additive.
EGR, radio trunk tuner and telephone deleted. Installed resistor mod for early aux fan start on high. Fuse with alligator clips installed near receiver-drier for fan on low at all times. This forum taught me a lot. Also, car has a block heater.
3 original keys and 2 keys for new ignition tumbler, 2 remotes. Comes with a box of spare parts or two and spare fluids. Also included W124-specific sunshade and WeatherTech trunk liner.
I put on around 25k miles on it. No chain stretch. High mileage award.
Reliable daily driver with cold AC and hot heat, drive it anywhere, no leaks, no smoke, no issues. Needs nothing. Only cosmetic small stuff. Car has no blowby and no timing chain stretch, I'm including a spare brand new timing chain with the car - bought it to replace as preventative maintenance but it was not needed.
This car made 2000+ miles long road trips with ease; drove it to NOLA, Guadalupe Mountains, Big Bend...never an issue.
Got receipts and maintenance history with pictures.
Spent almost 10k in parts (documented) and a few thousand in labor, so you don't have to. Most things that famous youtube Kent mentions that are common failure points failed on this car and I had them repaired, so you are good for another 25 years
