Description:
Hi All,
I have enjoyed (re: dumping money) restoring this big girl over the last year, but I’m selling my condo in FL and I have no room to store this in NYC. Open to feedback on this listing, and price is negotiable. To sum this car up: I am a perfectionist that hasn’t quite finished perfecting this example. If I were to be honest, I think it’s 90%- 95% there from a restoration standpoint. Ill try and be transparent as possible with the description and any responses to questions
Details:
Price: $21k
Year: 1996
Mileage: 44k
Tires: Michelin PS4. 1.5 years old. Less than 2k miles.
Wheels: 18 x 8.5 AMG Monoblocks
Think of the following rating system as a 10/10 being car show ready / or almost brand new feeling/looking. 5/10 is what you would expect a non-enthusiast owned Mercedes to be after 27 years with only critical maintenance performed (to keep It running)
mechanical condition: 8/10 (~11k in maintenance between me and the last owner over the last 2 years. Mostly suspension pieces, mounts, new brakes, replacing the AC controller, replacing the door latches, the pneumatic pump, and switches etc. Needs rear shock top mounts; only way to notice is if you go over a hard bump there’s a clunk in the back. If you want me to take care of it we can arrange for something. Other than a tiny bit of sloppyness on the suspension, it almost feels new. Better than most people expect when they drive it)
exterior condition: 8/10 (slight crack around the drivers side side mirror trim, and the headlight wiper nozzles need a cap. Other than that the exterior is pristine for a 27 year old car. Looks new. There are signs of a respray, but the work is really good and there are no signs of an accident. Constantly get people complimenting me gas stations)
Interior condition: 7/10 (New headliner. No tears, no stains, no smells, everything works except for the lumbar support air bag inflation. Issues: the instrument cluster back light is very dim. The front seats show a wear but no glaring issues. I do not have color matched floor mats, and there are two small interior plastic pieces that cracked and fell off. There is paint missing/fading around the rear air vents and the drivers side seatbelt is dirty, stained, and doesn’t have much tension when there is slack )
Again, open to feedback on this listing. Looking forward to discussing the car with you all.
