Up for sale is my 2005 Mercedes Benz C55 AMG. It is silver on black and has the famous 5.5 m113 V8 known for great power and rock solid reliability.
The car has been well maintained by Independent Motorcars and is in great condition.
This is a 2-3 owner car depending on how you look at it. The first owners gave the car to their adult son in 2018. My wife and I got the car in 2020 and we've enjoyed it for the last 4 years.
The car is basically stock. Only modifications are:
-Black roof wrap
-Smoked side markers
-CLK55 front grill
-Aftermarket head unit with bluetooth
-V1 radar mount (v1 detector not included in sale)
I have the stock grill, stock head-unit, and stock rear spoiler (I removed it to get it re-painted but ended up liking the "wingless" look).
Common C55 problems I've had repaired in the last 4 years include:
-Radiator and coolant hose (2020)
-Transmission filter and fluid change (2020)
-Transmission electrical plug (replaced out of precaution as these often start leaking (2020)
-New plugs (2021)
-Oil filter housing gasket (2022)
-Firewall coolant line (replaced out of precaution) (2023)
-New battery (2023)
-Valve Cover gaskets (2024)
-Belt and tensioner (2024)
Mechanically the car is almost perfect. It will need new thrust arm bushings soon.
The interior is a 10 out of 10. Basically perfect
The exterior is a 8.5 out of 10. Is had some rock chips along with a few very minor chips. A few light scratches should buff out.
Asking $12,000 and fairly firm. This is a rare car and getting harder to find in this condition.

The suspension is not making clunking, but it definitely needs thrust arm bushings or a control arm job as the thrust arm bushings are visibly worn and leaking.

Although the more SL55's I test drive, the more I'm tempted to keep this C55. The weight difference of almost 1,000 pounds is quite noticeable.
